The 4th edition of the UL-NUIG Annual Research Day will take place at the University of Limerick on Tuesday, 20 May 2014 starting at 10.30am. The venue is the Computer Science and Information Systems(CSIS) Building on the UL campus. The venue will be open for poster setup and coffee will be served from 9.00am to 10.30am.
This is a day long event open to the public and free to attend. Prior registration via Eventbrite is required.
Academics and researchers representing the Faculty of Science & Engineering at the University of Limerick and NUI Galway’s Colleges of Engineering and Informatics and College of Science will present preliminary findings and ideas in cutting edge domains of science and engineering.
This year’s conference theme is: “A close view of Postgraduates Careers in Irish Industry Today”.
The key objectives of the Research Day are to:
- Enhance post‐graduate research skills through targeted presentations on research methodology and practical guidelines for publishing your research.
- Present post‐graduate research in a conference‐style interactive poster session.
- Provide a close view of Postgraduate Careers in Irish Industry Today through high level talks by Industry Leaders.
The event will showcase some of the cutting edge research being carried out by engineers, and scientists across several diverse disciplines from energy, biomedical, ICT, civil, mechanical, chemical, mathematical and physical sciences to the biological sciences.
There will be free coffee and lunch provided during the day, which will end with a BBQ for all participants.
